Android: Show Battery Percentage in the Status Bar

If your status bar only shows a battery icon without a number, you have no way to tell whether you're at 45 percent or 15 percent until the low-battery warning pops up. Android hides the exact charge level by default and only displays a rough icon fill state. Switching on the percentage display gives you the exact figure at a glance instead of guessing from an icon shape.

Show or Hide Battery Percentage in the Status Bar auf Android

Android shows battery status as an icon that fills or empties, without an exact number, unless you turn on the battery percentage option. That icon gives you a rough idea, but it can't tell you if you're at 42 percent or 38 percent, and that gap matters when you're planning your day around a charger.

The percentage display sits inside the Battery menu rather than in display or status bar settings, since it's treated as a power-management setting.

To turn it on: Tap on SettingsTap on BatteryEnable or disable Battery percentage.

Once enabled, the exact number appears next to the battery icon in the status bar and updates in real time as you charge or drain the device. If you use a custom launcher or icon pack that overrides system status bar elements, the percentage might stay hidden even after enabling this setting - check the launcher's own status bar options in that case.

Disabling the option removes the number again and returns the status bar to the plain icon view. That's useful if the extra digit feels distracting or you want to free up the small amount of space it takes next to other status icons.
