Allow Alarms and Media Sounds Through Do Not Disturb auf Android
Do Not Disturb on Android silences notifications by default, but it does not automatically decide how alarms, media, or reminders behave. Each of these belongs to its own exception category, and Android keeps them switched off or on independently. That is why an alarm can stay muted even when calls from favorite contacts still get through.
The relevant categories are alarms, media sounds, touch sounds, reminders, and calendar events. Turning one on does not affect the others, so you need to check each toggle if you want full control over what breaks through Do Not Disturb.
Where to find the exception settings
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Sound & vibration ➔ Tap on Do Not Disturb ➔ Tap on Alarms & other interruptions. From there, Turn on/off the desired Options for alarms, media, touch sounds, reminders, and calendar events based on what you want to hear.
This screen is the only place that controls these five categories. Changing app-specific notification settings elsewhere will not override what you set here, since Do Not Disturb always takes priority for these interruption types.
When to leave exceptions off
If you rely on Do Not Disturb for uninterrupted sleep or focus time, leaving media and touch sounds off avoids accidental noise from background apps. Keeping alarms on is usually the safer default, since a silenced alarm can cause you to miss appointments entirely.
