Open a New Tab in Chrome auf Android
Chrome treats every open website as a separate tab, similar to pages in a browser on a computer. If you only ever type a new address into the same tab, the site you had open before disappears and you lose access to it until you go back manually.
Opening a dedicated new tab keeps both pages available at once. This matters when you need to copy a code, an address, or a reference number from one page while filling in a form or writing an email on another.
To open a new tab: Open Chrome ➔ Open the menu ➔ Tap on New tab. A blank tab appears alongside the ones you already had open, and you can switch between them using the tab counter in the toolbar.
Keep in mind that every open tab uses memory in the background. On older or lower-memory phones, having many tabs open at once can slow down page loading or cause Chrome to reload a tab from scratch when you switch back to it. Closing tabs you no longer need keeps browsing responsive.
