Turn One-handed Mode On or Off auf Android
One-handed mode is an Android accessibility feature that shrinks the entire screen into a smaller window and pins it to the bottom of the display. It exists because larger phones push app icons, back buttons, and notification shades out of thumb reach when you hold the device in a single hand.
Once active, a quick swipe from the bottom edge of the screen (or the assigned gesture, depending on the phone) triggers the shrink effect. Tapping anywhere outside the shrunk window returns the screen to full size.
Where to find it
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Accessibility ➔ Tap on System controls ➔ Tap on One-handed mode, then Enable or disable One-handed mode to flip the toggle.
If the menu entry is missing entirely, the phone manufacturer may have replaced it with its own one-handed feature under a different name, or the function is not offered on that model.
When another fix works better
If the real issue is a hard-to-reach navigation gesture rather than overall screen size, adjusting the navigation bar or switching to gesture navigation can solve the problem without shrinking the display. One-handed mode also does not resize individual apps permanently, it only affects the current session until you tap outside the window.
