Add Words to the Personal Dictionary auf Android
Autocorrect on Android relies on a built-in word list that does not include names, slang, technical jargon, or abbreviations you type regularly. Every time you type one of these words, Gboard either underlines it as a mistake or silently replaces it with something else.
The personal dictionary fixes this by letting you register your own words directly in the keyboard settings. Once a word is saved, Gboard treats it as correct and stops suggesting changes. You can also attach a short shortcut to a longer word or phrase, so typing a few letters expands into the full term automatically.
To add an entry, open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on System ➔ Tap on Keyboard ➔ Tap on On-screen keyboard ➔ Tap on Gboard ➔ Tap on Dictionary ➔ Tap on Personal dictionary. Choose one language or All languages, then tap Tap on Add. Type the word and, if you want a shortcut, add it in the optional field, then confirm with Tap on Back.
This only affects Gboard's suggestions. If you use a different keyboard app, you need to manage its dictionary separately. Entries stored here are also tied to the language you selected, so a word saved under one language will not show up when typing in another.
