Enable Pocket Mode in the Camera App auf Android
Pocket mode is a camera setting that stops the shutter button and other touch controls from reacting once your phone slides into a pocket or bag. Without it, fabric pressing on the screen can trigger the shutter, filling your gallery with dark or blurry images you never meant to take.
The feature relies on the built-in proximity and light sensors near the front camera. When those sensors register that the display is covered and the surroundings are dark, Android assumes the phone is stored away and disables touch input inside the camera app until you take it back out.
To turn it on or off, open Open Camera, then go to Open the menu ➔ Open the settings ➔ Activate or deactivate Pocket mode. The toggle applies only to the camera app itself, not to the rest of the system.
Pocket mode works best with a case that leaves the sensor area free. Thick cases, screen protectors, or covering the top edge with your hand can block the sensor and stop the feature from triggering correctly, so accidental shots may still happen occasionally.
