Set Up a Proxy Server for Wi-Fi Connection auf Android
A proxy server sits between your phone and the websites you visit, so a site only sees the proxy's IP address instead of your device's own address. On Android, this setting lives inside the advanced options of a saved Wi-Fi network, which is why it only becomes available once that network is already connected and stored.
If you try to configure a proxy on an unsaved or forgotten network, the option will not appear, because Android only offers proxy settings for networks it recognizes.
To reach the proxy settings, go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Network & internet ➔ Tap on Internet ➔ Tap on Saved networks ➔ Select a Saved network ➔ Tap on Edit ➔ Tap on Advanced options ➔ Tap on Proxy.
From there you can choose between Manual and Proxy Auto-Config. Manual mode asks for a hostname, port, and optional bypass list, while Proxy Auto-Config loads a PAC script URL that decides the proxy rules automatically. Enter the required data and tap Save to apply it.
A proxy only affects traffic on the specific Wi-Fi network it was set up on. Switching to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network bypasses it, so you need to repeat the setup for every network where you want it active.
