Rename a Fingerprint auf Android
Android saves each new fingerprint under a generic label such as Fingerprint 1 or Fingerprint 2. The system does this automatically during enrollment, without asking for a name.
This numbering works fine as long as only one person unlocks the device with a single finger. Once you register multiple fingers, or several family members share the same phone, the numbers no longer tell you which entry belongs to which finger.
Renaming a fingerprint does not change how the sensor reads or matches it. The stored biometric data stays untouched; only the display name changes.
To rename a saved fingerprint, go to Settings ➔ Security & privacy ➔ Device unlock ➔ Fingerprint Unlock. Confirm your screen lock if asked, then tap Fingerprint Unlock again to open the list of saved fingerprints. Select the entry you want to change, enter a new name, and tap OK to save it.
If you cannot find the fingerprint you expect, check whether it was saved under a different unlock method or delete and re-enroll it instead. Removing a fingerprint entirely is a separate action from renaming and requires its own confirmation step.
