Rename a Folder on the Home Screen auf Android
When you create a new folder on your home screen, Android leaves the name field empty by default. No placeholder text appears under the folder icon, so it looks like naming got disabled. It did not - the input field is just hidden until you open the folder.
To add or change a name, open the folder first. At the top you will see either blank space or the current name. Tap directly on it.
Open a Folder ➔ Tap on the Current Name ➔ Enter a Name and tap on Save
A text field appears where you can type a new name. Confirm with Save and the folder label shows up on the home screen right away.
This works the same whether the folder is brand new or already has apps sorted into it. If you want to remove a name completely, clear the text field and save it empty - the folder returns to its unlabeled state.
This method applies to the stock home screen launcher. If you use a third-party launcher, the rename option may sit in a different long-press menu instead of inside the folder.
