Enable or Disable Safe Browsing in Chrome auf Android
Chrome's Safe Browsing feature checks every page you open against Google's constantly updated list of dangerous and deceptive sites. If it's turned off, Chrome stops warning you before you land on phishing pages, malware downloads, or sites designed to trick you into handing over personal data.
The setting lives inside Chrome's own privacy menu rather than the general Android settings, which is why it's easy to overlook. You find it here:
Open Chrome ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the settings ➔ Tap on Privacy ➔ Activate or deactivate Safe Browsing
Inside the Privacy section, Chrome usually offers more than one protection level. Choosing a stronger level means Google checks pages and downloads more closely, at the cost of sending more browsing data to Google's servers.
Turning Safe Browsing off can make sense if you already run a separate security app that scans links and downloads, or if you want to limit what Chrome shares with Google. For most people, leaving it active remains the simpler way to avoid opening a fraudulent page by accident.
