Android: Save Previous Camera Settings Automatically

Open Camera resets exposure, ISO, and focus back to default values every time you close and reopen the app. This happens because the app does not track session state on its own: without a dedicated toggle, none of your last used settings carry over.

Save previous mode changes that behavior. It stores your most recent camera settings and reapplies them automatically the next time you launch the app, which saves time when you repeatedly shoot similar scenes, such as portraits under the same lighting or a fixed product setup.

To turn it on, open Open Camera ➔ Open the menu ➔ Open the settings ➔ Activate or deactivate Save previous mode.

Leaving it off makes more sense if you switch between very different environments often. Carrying exposure settings from a bright outdoor scene into a dark room can lead to overexposed or blurry shots, so resetting to default on each launch avoids that kind of manual correction.
