Turn Song Identifier On or Off on the Lock Screen auf Android
When the lock screen never shows a song title or artist, the Now Playing feature that scans ambient audio is usually switched off. Android handles this detection locally, so short audio snippets are matched on the device instead of being uploaded anywhere.
The toggle lives inside the lock screen settings and is separate from media controls for apps like Spotify or YouTube Music. Turning it off does not change how those apps behave; it only stops the system from listening for background music playing nearby.
To change the setting, open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Display ➔ Tap on Lock screen ➔ Tap on Now Playing ➔ Enable or disable Identify songs playing nearby.
Keeping the feature on means your phone periodically checks nearby audio, which uses a small amount of battery. If you rarely need song titles on the lock screen, leave it off to save power. If you often catch music in cafes, on the radio, or from other people's speakers and want a quick way to see what is playing, switching it on is the better choice.
