Turn Off Wi-Fi Hotspot Automatically auf Android
When you start a Wi-Fi hotspot on an Android phone, the radio keeps broadcasting even if no device ever connects to it. That constant signal uses power in the background, which is why an idle hotspot can noticeably drain your battery within a few hours.
Android includes a built-in safeguard for this. A dedicated toggle checks for connected devices and switches the hotspot off automatically after a period of inactivity. This keeps you from forgetting an open hotspot running unnecessarily in your pocket or bag.
You find the control at Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Network & internet ➔ Tap on Hotspot & tethering ➔ Tap on Wi-Fi hotspot ➔ Enable or disable Turn off hotspot automatically. Enabling it saves battery whenever the hotspot sits idle.
Disable this option only if you rely on the hotspot staying available for devices that connect intermittently, such as a smart display or a laptop that reconnects sporadically. In that case, an automatic shutdown could interrupt the connection right when you need it.
If the hotspot still turns off too quickly even with a device connected, check that the connected gadget is actually exchanging data and not just sitting idle on the network, since some detection methods rely on active traffic rather than a simple connection state.
