How does Gorilla Glass work?

Manufacturers like Samsung, Google, and Xiaomi use Gorilla Glass on both the front display and, in some cases, the back panel of smartphones. Hardness is typically rated around 6-7 on the Mohs scale, making it tougher than standard soda-lime glass, though not scratch-proof against materials like sapphire or diamond.
