Add a Printer Manually via IP Address auf Huawei
Huawei phones normally detect printers through a WLAN network scan or WiFi Direct. Both methods rely on the printer broadcasting its presence on the local network. Guest networks, VLANs, and some office routers block that broadcast, so the printer never shows up in the list even though it is switched on and connected.
Adding the printer by its IP address avoids the scan. Open Settings ➔ More connections ➔ Printing ➔ Default Print Service ➔ More ➔ Add printer ➔ Add. Enter the hostname or IP address of the printer in the field and tap Add again to save it.
Use this method whenever the automatic scan comes back empty, or when the printer sits on a different subnet than the phone. WiFi Direct remains the better option for printers that support it, since it pairs directly without touching the router at all. If the IP address changes after a router restart, the printer entry has to be re-added with the new address, since EMUI does not track dynamic IP changes automatically.
