Choose Which Contacts Are Displayed
If your OnePlus phone shows every saved number in one giant list, work contacts and personal ones end up jumbled together. This happens because the Contacts app pulls entries from every linked account and group by default, with nothing filtered out. Sorting this out keeps the list focused on the people you actually need to see.
Delete a contact group or label
A label with dozens of contacts you no longer need clutters the group list in the Contacts app, but removing every member one by one feels pointless. Deleting the group itself takes seconds and does not touch the contacts stored on your OnePlus phone. Only the grouping disappears, not the people in it.
Resend Undelivered Messages Automatically
If a text message shows a red exclamation mark or just sits there as 'Not delivered', your carrier connection likely dropped mid-send. OnePlus Messages can quietly retry it as SMS, but only if the resend behavior is configured the way you expect. Without checking this setting, you might be missing messages or getting asked for confirmation every single time a send fails.
Block Unidentified Callers Automatically
If your OnePlus keeps ringing for numbers with no caller ID or generic labels like Unknown, callers hiding behind a suppressed or unregistered number are getting through. This often includes robocalls or alleged competition and survey calls that never show a real number. A dedicated toggle in the Phone app can stop these calls before they reach you.
Enable or Disable Call Waiting
If a second call comes in while you are already on a call with your OnePlus phone, call waiting decides whether you get notified at all. Without it enabled, incoming calls during an active conversation go straight to a busy signal or voicemail. Some users also find the alert tone during calls distracting and want to turn it off entirely.
Add Emergency Contacts for SOS
If your phone is set to send its location during an SOS alert but nobody ever receives it, no emergency contact has been saved yet. OnePlus only sends the automatic SOS text with your current location to people you have added to a dedicated emergency list beforehand. Without that list, the alert has no recipient at all.
Enable or Disable Chat Features in Messages
If your OnePlus keeps showing typing indicators, read receipts or high-resolution photo sharing inside the stock Messages app, chat features are switched on and syncing over mobile data or Wi-Fi. Some users want this messenger-style behavior turned off because it reveals when a message was read or drains data in the background. Copy Text from an SMS Message
An SMS with a delivery address, a phone number, or a one-time login code often needs to move somewhere else, like a notes app or a browser field. Retyping it risks a wrong digit, and OxygenOS does not show an obvious copy button in the conversation view. The option only appears once you select the message the right way.
Enable or Disable Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC)
If your hearing aids pick up static, buzzing or a faint hum during calls on your OnePlus phone, the built-in audio output might not be tuned for hearing aid compatibility. This setting changes how the earpiece sends sound so hearing aids can pick up a cleaner signal, but it can also make calls sound different for people who don't use hearing aids. Getting this setting wrong in either direction leaves one group with poor call audio.
Delete a Single Call History Entry
If you only want one call gone from your OnePlus call log, clearing the entire history is overkill and removes numbers you still need. A spam call, an accidental dial, or an old missed call can be removed on its own instead of wiping the whole list.
Add Contact to Favourites
Calling the same person over and over means scrolling through your whole contact list every time on your OnePlus phone. Marking that contact as a favourite pins it to the top of the Contacts app, so you skip the search entirely. It is a quick fix if you keep hunting for the same few names.
SMS Delivery Reports: Enable or Disable
When you send a text message, you often have no way of knowing whether it actually landed on the recipient's phone. On OnePlus phones, a hidden setting can request a delivery report from your carrier for every SMS you send. If that option is turned off, or you are not sure which SIM it applies to on a dual SIM device, you will keep sending messages blind.
Reject Calls with a Quick Response Text
If your phone rings during a meeting or while you are driving, picking up is not always an option. On OnePlus phones you can decline the call and send a short text at the same moment, so the caller knows you saw it and will get back to them. The trick is finding the reply option before the call goes to voicemail.
Create a New Event in the Calendar App
Forgetting a meeting usually comes down to never adding it to the Calendar app in the first place. On OnePlus phones, new entries split into four types - Event, Task, Reminder or Goal - and picking the wrong one can leave out details you actually need, like location or repeat settings. Knowing which type to choose upfront saves you from redoing the entry later.
Delete a Calendar Event
If an appointment in the OnePlus Calendar app keeps showing up after you moved it, or it's simply no longer needed, you can remove it for good. Enable or Disable Fixed Dialing Numbers
If your OnePlus phone suddenly blocks calls to numbers that are not on a specific list, Fixed Dialing Numbers (FDN) is probably active. This call restriction only allows contacts stored on the SIM card to be dialed, which many parents use to limit a child's phone to a few approved numbers. Turning FDN on or off always requires the PIN2 code from your carrier, not the regular SIM PIN.
Show or Hide Birthday Reminders in Calendar
If your OnePlus calendar suddenly stops showing a contact's birthday, a Google Account setting is usually behind it. Every linked account carries its own birthday visibility toggle, so one account displaying dates does not mean all of them do. A birthday that was visible last month can quietly vanish once a second account gets added.
Delete a Contact
