Turn Off Instant Power Button Lock auf OnePlus
On OnePlus phones running OxygenOS, the power button is tied directly to the screen lock by default. Every press turns the screen off and locks it at the same moment, no matter how briefly you touch the button.
This behavior comes from the Power button instantly locks option inside the security settings. When it is active, the system skips any grace period and applies the lock screen the moment the display turns off.
If you often press the power button by accident, or just want a short buffer before the lock kicks in, you can turn this option off. Go to Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Security & lock screen ➔ Open the Settings ➔ Enable or disable Power button instantly locks.
Disabling it does not remove the screen lock itself. It only changes when the lock is applied after the screen turns off, giving you a short window to turn the display back on without re-entering your PIN, pattern or fingerprint.
Keep the option enabled if security matters more than convenience, for example on a shared or frequently misplaced device. Turning it off is better suited for personal phones where accidental presses are common.
