Oppo: Allow App Notifications During Do Not Disturb

If Do Not Disturb mode silences a messaging or work app you actually need to hear from, that is expected behavior on Oppo phones, not a bug. Coloros mutes every app by default once Do Not Disturb turns on, and only apps added to the allowed list keep making sound and showing alerts. Without that exception, calls, chats and reminders from that app stay silent until you turn the mode off.

Add App Exceptions to Do Not Disturb auf Oppo

Do Not Disturb on Oppo phones mutes sound, vibration and pop-up alerts for every app at once. This is a global setting, so it does not know which apps matter to you unless you tell it. Adding an app to the exception list overrides that mute for just that app, while everything else stays silent.

This matters most for messaging apps, work tools or family group chats where missing an alert has real consequences. It also matters for calls, since some apps route voice calls through notifications rather than the phone dialer.

To manage this, open SettingsSound & vibrationDo Not DisturbAllowed notifications, then turn the toggle on for each app that should still alert you. Turning a toggle off removes that app from the exception list and mutes it again during Do Not Disturb.

If notifications from an allowed app still do not appear, check that the app itself has notification permissions enabled and that battery optimization is not restricting it in the background. Do Not Disturb exceptions only control whether the mode mutes the app, not whether the app is allowed to send notifications at all.

Frequently asked questions

Check that the app has notification permissions enabled in its own app settings, separate from Allowed notifications. Background restrictions or disabled app notifications override the Do Not Disturb exception.
