Access Scientific Calculator Functions
If the Calculator app on your Oppo phone only shows basic addition and multiplication, functions like sine, cosine and tangent seem to be missing entirely. Many users assume Coloros ships without a scientific mode, when it is actually built into the same app and just hidden from view. This becomes a problem the moment you need quick trigonometry or advanced math on the go.
Accessibility Menu: Enable or Disable
If you don't see a small round shortcut icon in your navigation bar, the Accessibility Menu on your Oppo phone is switched off. This menu gives quick access to frequently used apps and system functions without digging through several screens. It's especially useful for older users or anyone who wants fewer taps to reach common actions.
Activate a Downloaded Keyboard
After installing a new keyboard app on your Oppo phone, the system keeps typing with the default keyboard instead. Saving a contact's birthday on an Oppo phone looks like a small task, but many users expect ColorOS to send a reminder afterward. That does not happen automatically, and the date only sits inside the contact card until you check it yourself. Knowing where the birthday field actually lives saves you from digging through the wrong menus.
Add a Contact Photo
If your contact list on Oppo still shows plain initials instead of faces, calls and messages are harder to scan at a glance. This happens because no image has been linked to that contact yet in the Contacts app. Adding a photo works with an existing gallery picture or a new snapshot from the camera.

If you type in more than one language, the default Gboard setup only offers your phone's system language and blocks you from typing accented characters or a different script. Add Another Fingerprint
If your Oppo phone only recognizes one finger, unlocking fails whenever that hand is wet, bandaged or busy holding something. Add App Exceptions to Do Not Disturb
If Do Not Disturb mode silences a messaging or work app you actually need to hear from, that is expected behavior on Oppo phones, not a bug. Coloros mutes every app by default once Do Not Disturb turns on, and only apps added to the allowed list keep making sound and showing alerts. Without that exception, calls, chats and reminders from that app stay silent until you turn the mode off.
Add App Shortcut to the Home Screen
On Oppo phones running the App Drawer layout, newly installed apps stay tucked away in the drawer instead of landing on the home screen. If you keep swiping up just to launch one app, you are missing a shortcut that needs to be placed there manually.
Add Apps and Games to Game Space
If a game or app does not launch inside Game Space on your Oppo phone, it usually has not been added to the managed list yet. Without that step, the app starts as a normal application and misses out on performance tweaks, do-not-disturb, and other Game Space functions.
Add Contact to Home Screen
Calling a frequent contact on your Oppo phone often means opening the Phone app, tapping Contacts, and scrolling through the list every time. Add Emergency Contacts for Emergency SOS
If Emergency SOS or emergency SMS on your Oppo phone only reaches the default 112 number, no personal emergency contact is stored yet. Without at least one saved contact, alerts and location messages during an SOS trigger won't go out to anyone you know.
Add Emergency Information
If you collapse or end up in an accident, paramedics often can't unlock your phone to check your blood type, allergies, or medications. Oppo lets you store that medical profile so it shows up during an SOS call, no passcode needed. Without filling it in, first responders only see your name and photo, not the details that actually matter in an emergency.
Add Members to a Contact Group
Creating a contact group on your Oppo phone does not lock the member list. If you forgot someone or need to add a person later, the group only updates once you open it again and confirm the new members through the add-contacts screen. Skipping that confirmation step leaves the group unchanged even though it looked like the contact was added.
Add New Apps Automatically to the Home Screen

Pairing alone is not enough - the accessory has to be added to the trusted list before automatic unlock kicks in.
Add Trusted Places to Smart Lock
If your Oppo phone keeps asking for a PIN or pattern even at home or in the office, Smart Lock's Trusted Places feature is probably not configured yet. Without a saved location, the phone falls back to your regular screen lock everywhere, including places you visit every day. Trusted Places keeps the device unlocked within roughly 50 meters of a spot you pick, as long as location services stay on.
Add Widgets to the Home Screen
If your Oppo home screen only shows app icons and folders, you are missing widgets that display live info like weather, calendar events, or battery status. Many users never spot the widget menu because it does not sit in the regular app drawer. Both system apps and many installed apps offer their own widgets in different sizes.
Adjust Audio Balance
If one ear picks up music, calls or video sound louder than the other, the audio balance on your Oppo phone is skewed toward the left or right channel.
