Oppo: Add a Wi-Fi Network Manually

If a Wi-Fi network does not show up in the list of available connections, you cannot just tap and connect like usual. This happens when a router hides its SSID broadcast or when the signal is weak enough that Android drops it from the scan results. To connect anyway, you need the exact network name and, if the router uses one, the correct password.

Add a Wi-Fi Network Manually auf Oppo

A Wi-Fi network stops showing up in the scan list mainly for two reasons: the router owner disabled SSID broadcast, or the signal is too weak for the phone to register it reliably. Coloros then has no entry to tap, so the normal connect flow is not available.

Adding the network by hand works around this. You enter the SSID and password yourself instead of picking a name from a list, so the phone does not need to detect the broadcast at all.

To do this, go to SettingsWi-FiManually add a networkEnter the SSID & Password and tap Confirm.

The SSID must match the router name exactly, including capitalization and spacing. A typo here is the most common reason the manual entry fails silently.

If the network is visible but just refuses to connect, adding it manually will not help. In that case the issue sits with authentication or the router itself, and checking the router's Wi-Fi settings or restarting it is the faster fix.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Enter the network name exactly as configured on the router, including uppercase and lowercase letters. A mismatch means the phone will not find or connect to the network even though the entry looks correct in Manually add a network.
