Oppo: Allow Unlimited Data Usage for Apps in Data Saver

When Data saving mode is on, your Oppo phone cuts mobile data access for most apps in the background, which often causes missed notifications or apps that only load content over Wi-Fi. You can still whitelist specific apps so they keep full data access even while data saving stays active for everything else.

Allow Unlimited Data for Apps in Data Saver auf Oppo

Data saving mode on Oppo restricts background mobile data for most apps to reduce consumption. This is useful for keeping your monthly plan under control, but it can silently block messaging apps, cloud backups, or music services from working outside Wi-Fi.

To fix this without turning data saving off completely, you add the app to the unlimited data usage list. This exception only applies to the app you select; every other app stays restricted.

In that list, find the app and turn the toggle on. Turn it off again if you want the app to fall back under data saving restrictions.

This setting is available on ColorOS and applies system-wide, independent of the specific app version. If an app still has no mobile data after whitelisting, check separately whether background data or mobile data is disabled for that app under its own app settings.

Frequently asked questions

Check that the app also has background data allowed in its individual app settings under SettingsApp management ➔ the app ➔ Mobile data. Data saving exceptions and per-app mobile data permissions are separate settings.
