Oppo: Change the Region in System Settings

If apps keep showing you content, prices, or app suggestions for the wrong country, the region set on your Oppo phone is likely the cause. ColorOS uses this region value to decide which local content, weather data, and regional services apps display. Changing it in the settings does not lift a Google Play Store restriction or unblock region-locked streaming content.

Change the Region in Settings auf Oppo

ColorOS stores a region value separately from your language setting. Apps read this value to decide which local news, weather, shopping offers, or regional widgets to show you.

If you travel or import a device from another country, this region often still points to the wrong place, and local content stays off.

Where to change the region

Open SettingsAdditional settingsLanguage & regionRegionSet the Region. Pick your current country from the list and confirm.

Some apps apply the new region immediately, others only after a restart.

What this setting does not change

The region in ColorOS is a system-level display setting. It does not switch your Google Play Store country, which is tied to your Google account and payment profile.

It also has no effect on geo-blocking used by streaming services, since those checks rely on your network location, not your phone settings.

If you need a different Play Store country, that requires a separate change in your Google account settings, and country switches there are limited and time-restricted by Google.

Frequently asked questions

No. The region under Language & region only affects local content inside apps. Your Play Store country is linked to your Google account and must be changed separately in your Google account settings.
