Oppo: Create Folders on the Home Screen

Icons piling up on your Oppo home screen make it hard to spot the app you actually need. Dragging one icon onto another works, but it gets messy once you have more than two or three apps to group. This guide covers the dedicated folder function, which is faster when you want to sort several apps at once.

Create Folders on Home Screen auf Oppo

On an Oppo home screen, every app sits as its own icon unless you group icons manually. ColorOS does not create folders automatically, so the home screen fills up quickly once you install more apps or add widgets around them.

The folder function is part of the home screen management in ColorOS. It lets you combine several app icons into a single container that opens with one tap, which keeps the layout readable without deleting or hiding any app.

To create a folder: Tap and hold an AppDrag the App onto anotherRelease the App to create a folder. ColorOS automatically places both apps into a new folder and shows a small preview icon on the home screen.

This method works for any two apps, regardless of whether they share a category. If you only want to move one app without creating a folder, drag it to an empty space on the home screen instead - dropping it on another icon always triggers folder creation.

Folders you create this way behave like regular home screen items. You can rename them, add more apps by dragging additional icons onto the folder, or remove apps by dragging them back out. If a folder ends up empty after removing all apps, ColorOS deletes it automatically.

Tap the folder to open it, then tap the folder name field at the top and enter a new name. The new name saves automatically once you tap outside the field.
