Oppo: Hide Notification Content on the Lock Screen

Oppo phones show notification previews on the locked screen by default, including sender names and message snippets. That is convenient when you check alerts fast, but it also exposes private content to anyone who picks up the device or glances at it on a table.

ColorOS handles this through a dedicated privacy setting rather than through the notification toggle for each app. The system offers three separate levels: show everything, hide only sensitive parts, or block notification content on the lock screen completely.

To change it, open Settings ➔ Privacy ➔ Lock screen, then pick between Show all notification content, Hide sensitive content and Hide all notifications.

Hide sensitive content keeps the app icon and a generic label visible, so you still notice new messages without seeing their text. Hide all notifications removes the entry from the lock screen entirely; you only see it after unlocking the phone.

Switch back to Show all notification content whenever you want full previews again, for example on a device that never leaves your hands.
