Oppo: Delete an Access Point Name (APN)

If mobile data on your Oppo phone runs slow or drops out after a carrier switch, an outdated or duplicate Access Point Name (APN) is often the cause. ColorOS keeps old APN profiles around even after a SIM swap, and a broken entry can block a fresh connection from taking priority. Removing the faulty APN clears the conflict without wiping other network settings.

Delete Access Point Names (APN) auf Oppo

An Access Point Name (APN) tells your Oppo phone how to connect to your carrier's mobile data network. When a SIM is swapped, a carrier updates its network settings, or a manual APN was entered incorrectly, ColorOS can end up with duplicate or outdated entries. The device may keep using a broken profile instead of the correct one, leading to slow data, failed connections, or missing MMS.

Deleting the faulty APN removes it from the list so the phone falls back to the carrier's default profile or the one you configure afterward. This works well when you know the entry is unused or wrong, but if you are unsure which APN is active, edit it first instead of deleting it outright.

To remove an entry, open SettingsSIM card & mobile data, pick the SIM if you use two, then tap Access point names. Open the menu and select Delete APN. On a dual-SIM device, repeat this for the second SIM if needed.

Deleting an APN does not affect Wi-Fi, saved passwords, or other carrier settings. If mobile data stops working afterward, restart the phone or re-add the correct APN manually.

Frequently asked questions

No. APN settings only control mobile data and MMS. Wi-Fi profiles stay untouched.
