Oppo: Choose Wi-Fi or Mobile Data for App Downloads

New apps from the Google Play Store only download over Wi-Fi on your Oppo phone by default, and a large install can sit there waiting instead of finishing over mobile data. This is controlled by a setting inside the Play Store itself, not by Coloros. You can allow downloads over mobile data at any time, or set the Play Store to ask you every single time before it uses cellular data.

App Download Preference (Wi-Fi or Mobile Data) auf Oppo

By default, the Google Play Store on Oppo phones only fetches app downloads and updates when the device is connected to Wi-Fi. This protects your mobile data plan, but it also means an install can simply stall if Wi-Fi drops out or is not available.

This behavior comes from a setting inside the Play Store app, not from a Coloros system option. Changing it affects every app you install or update afterward, until you change the setting again.

Change the app download preference

Open Play Store ➔ tap your Google account icon ➔ go to SettingsNetwork preferencesApp download preference. Pick an option and confirm with Done.

You get three choices: downloads over Wi-Fi only, downloads over any network including mobile data, or a prompt asking you each time a download would use mobile data. The prompt option is useful if your data plan is limited but you still want the flexibility to download over cellular occasionally.

If you allow downloads over mobile data at all times, large app updates can consume noticeable amounts of data, especially with automatic updates enabled. Stick to Wi-Fi only if your plan has a low data cap, or use the prompt option to decide case by case.
