Oppo: Turn On High Contrast Text for Better Readability

Standard text rendering on Oppo phones running ColorOS keeps letters thin and low-contrast, which strains reading in bright sunlight or on smaller screens. The High contrast text option in the accessibility tools thickens character edges and increases contrast between letters and background, independent of the font size slider.

This setting lives inside the accessibility tools, not the display menu, so many users never come across it. Open Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Accessibility ➔ Enable or disable High contrast text to switch it on or off.

Turning it on affects system menus, notifications, and most apps that follow the system font style. Apps with heavily customized interfaces may not react to the change at all. If text is simply too small rather than too low-contrast, adjust the font size separately instead of relying on this toggle.

Switching high contrast text on can slightly change how compact text looks in lists and notification shades, since bolder strokes take a bit more space. Disable it again the same way if any app shows overlapping or clipped text after you turn it on.
