Can I move messages from the SIM card into the main inbox?

Most Coloros versions only let you view SIM messages, not copy them into the phone inbox automatically. If the option is missing in Settings, treat the SIM list as a read-only archive.

I have two SIM cards, but I only see one set of messages. What is wrong?

Check that you selected the right SIM under Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM) before tapping SIM card messages. Each SIM slot has its own separate message storage.

The SIM card messages option is empty even though I know I had old texts. Why?

Many carriers today deliver SMS straight to phone storage and never write anything to the SIM chip. If the SIM was swapped from a very old phone or feature phone, some messages may have already been cleared by that device before the swap.

Messages stored directly on a SIM card do not appear in the regular conversation list on Coloros. The messaging app treats SIM storage as a separate archive, so texts saved there stay invisible until you open that archive on purpose.

This usually happens with SMS that arrived on an older phone or a different SIM slot before you moved the card into your current Oppo device. The phone keeps reading new messages into its own storage, while anything already saved on the SIM stays untouched and unseen.

Where to find SIM messages on Oppo

Open Messages, then tap the Menu icon and go to Settings. If you use two SIM cards, pick the correct one under Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM), then tap SIM card messages. This opens the list of texts stored on that card, separate from your main inbox.

If the phone shows no SIM card messages at all, the card is likely empty or your carrier never wrote SMS to it, which is common on newer networks.
