Oppo: Change Contacts Name Format

If your contacts list shows first name before last name and you need it reversed, the sort order comes from a setting inside the Contacts app, not your phone's system settings. This affects how names appear in calls, messages, and the contacts list alike.

Change Contacts Name Format (First/Last Name Order) auf Oppo

On Oppo phones running Coloros, the Contacts app keeps its own name-format setting instead of pulling it from Android's system locale. This means Coloros can show first name first even if your phone language usually sorts by last name, or the other way around.

The setting controls how contacts appear across Calls, Messages, and the Contacts list itself. Switching it does not change how contacts are stored, only how the display order looks on screen.

Where to find the setting

Open ContactsOpen the MenuTap on SettingsTap on Name format ➔ choose First name first or Lastname first.

Once you confirm the option, the app refreshes the list immediately. No restart is needed.

If you only want one specific contact to display differently, this setting will not help since it applies globally across the whole Contacts app. In that case, edit the first and last name fields for that single contact instead.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Switching to Lastname first also changes the alphabetical sort order in the Contacts list, since sorting follows the same field that is shown first.
