Optimize Battery Usage for Background Apps auf Oppo
ColorOS manages background apps through an automatic battery optimization system. When your Oppo phone runs low on power or an app stays idle in the background, the system restricts its processes or terminates them entirely to preserve battery life.
This affects messaging apps like WhatsApp or Messages the most. If a chat app gets terminated in the background, push notifications stop arriving until you open the app manually, since the connection to the server is cut off.
You can control this behavior per app under Settings ➔ Battery ➔ More battery settings ➔ Optimize battery use. Tap Choose an App and select the app you want to configure.
For each app you get three options: Auto optimize lets ColorOS decide when to restrict the app, Don´t optimize keeps it running in the background without restrictions, and Always ask prompts you every time the system wants to close it.
Set messaging apps to Don´t optimize so notifications keep arriving reliably. Leave rarely used apps on Auto optimize to avoid unnecessary battery drain. Disabling optimization for too many apps at once increases background power consumption and can shorten screen-on time.
