Oppo: Remove an Account in Settings

If an old account still shows up under Users & accounts on your Oppo phone even after signing out, it was only logged out, not removed. Removing the account deletes its local data and sync settings from the device, but the account and any data stored in its cloud stay untouched.

Remove an Account auf Oppo

On Oppo phones running ColorOS, accounts are managed centrally under SettingsUsers & accounts. Signing out of an app is not the same as removing the account entry from the device: a signed-out account still keeps its slot in this list, along with cached login data and sync preferences.

Removing an account clears its locally stored data, contacts sync, calendar sync, and any cached files tied to that profile on the phone. Nothing is deleted from the associated cloud service itself, so photos, files, or messages stored online remain accessible once you sign in again elsewhere.

To remove an account, open SettingsUsers & accounts, then select the account type and choose the specific account you want to remove. Open the menu on that account screen and tap Remove account, then confirm by tapping Remove account again.

If you only want to pause notifications or syncing temporarily, disabling sync for that account is a better option than removing it outright, since removal also stops background sync for connected apps like mail or calendar until the account is added again.

Frequently asked questions

No. Removing an account through SettingsUsers & accounts only deletes local data and sync settings on the phone. Files, photos, or messages stored in the account's cloud service stay exactly as they are.
