Delete Face Unlock Data auf Oppo
Face unlock on Oppo phones stores a mathematical map of your face rather than an actual photo, but that data stays on the device until you remove it manually. Deleting it does not happen automatically when you turn off face recognition in the toggle menu — the profile itself remains saved unless you go through the dedicated delete option.
This matters if you are selling the phone, sharing it with someone else, or simply switched to fingerprint unlock and want one less biometric method stored. Oppo protects this deletion step with your screen lock password or PIN, so you cannot remove the face data by accident.
Menu path to delete face data
Settings ➔ Password & biometrics ➔ Face ➔ Delete ➔ Delete to confirm.
Once confirmed, the phone falls back to your PIN, password, or pattern for unlocking. If fingerprint unlock is also set up, that method keeps working independently and is not affected by removing face data.
If face unlock keeps failing even after re-registering, clearing the old profile first through this same path usually resolves matching errors caused by a corrupted or outdated scan.
