Rename Home Screen Folders auf Oppo
Oppo groups similar apps into a folder automatically and labels it after the app category with the most entries. That auto-generated name is capped at 18 characters, so longer category names like 'Social Media' or 'Productivity Tools' get truncated on the home screen.
Renaming the folder only changes the visible label. It does not move apps, delete them, or change how future apps get sorted into that folder. This matters if you group apps by project or habit rather than by category, since the default name rarely fits your own logic anyway.
How to rename a folder
Open the folder by tapping it, then tap the current name at the top: Tap on a Folder ➔ Tap on the Current name ➔ Enter a Name and tap Save. The keyboard opens automatically once you tap the name field.
If the folder still shows the old label after saving, make sure you tapped Save and not just closed the keyboard. Some ColorOS builds require a short tap outside the text field to confirm the change.
If you remove every app from a renamed folder, Android deletes the empty folder along with your custom name. You will need to rename it again once you create a new folder in that spot.
