Open Eyes Requirement for Face Unlock auf Oppo
ColorOS adds an extra security layer to Face Unlock called the open eyes requirement. Instead of just matching facial geometry, the camera also verifies that both eyes are clearly open before it unlocks the phone. This blocks unlock attempts made while you are asleep or when someone else holds the phone up to your closed eyes.
The setting sits inside the biometrics menu, separate from the main Face Unlock toggle. To change it, go to Settings ➔ Password & biometrics ➔ Face ➔ enable or disable Unlock only when eyes are open.
Turning it off can help if you wear glasses, since lenses and reflections sometimes confuse the eye-detection check even when your eyes are fully open. It also helps in low light, where the camera struggles to confirm eye status reliably.
Keep in mind that disabling the check slightly lowers security, since Face Unlock will then accept a match without confirming open eyes. If your phone holds sensitive apps or payment data, weigh that tradeoff before switching it off permanently.
If Face Unlock still fails after adjusting this setting, re-registering your face under better lighting usually solves the remaining accuracy issues.
