Oppo: Change the TalkBack Navigation Mode

TalkBack is Android's built-in screen reader for Oppo phones running Coloros. Once it is turned on, it takes over how you interact with the screen: a single tap selects an element and reads it aloud, a double tap triggers the actual action.

This double-input behavior is intentional and protects against accidental taps for users relying on the screen reader. If you did not mean to turn on TalkBack, or you find the tap-then-confirm flow slow, you can change how navigation works instead of disabling the service entirely.

To reach the navigation options, open Settings ➔ Additional settings ➔ Accessibility ➔ TalkBack ➔ Settings ➔ Navigation. From there you can pick between touch gestures, key shortcuts, or fingerprint sensor gestures as alternative ways to move focus and confirm selections.

Switching navigation mode does not turn off TalkBack itself, it only changes how you control it. If you just want normal one-tap behavior back, turning TalkBack off completely in the same Accessibility menu is usually the faster fix.

Keep in mind that some navigation modes rely on hardware that varies by model, so fingerprint sensor gestures are only available if your Oppo phone has a compatible sensor.
