Oppo: Change the TalkBack Voice Output

TalkBack relies on a separate Text-to-speech engine to turn on-screen content into spoken output. That engine has its own settings for voice, speed, and pitch, which sit outside the main TalkBack toggle and often stay on default values after setup.

If the voice sounds unnatural, talks too fast, or uses an accent that is hard to follow, the fix is usually a quick adjustment in the Text-to-speech output menu rather than reinstalling or resetting TalkBack.

To reach these controls: Open the Settings ➔ Tap on Additional settings ➔ Tap on Accessibility ➔ Tap on Text-to-speech output ➔ Adjust the Voice output.

From here you can pick a different speech engine if more than one is installed, change the spoken language, and fine-tune speech rate and pitch until the output feels natural for daily use.

If the voice still sounds wrong after these changes, check that the correct language pack is downloaded for your chosen engine, since a missing pack often falls back to a generic default voice.
