Turn USB Tethering On or Off auf Oppo
USB tethering shares the mobile data connection of your Oppo phone with a computer or another device through a physical USB cable. Unlike Wi-Fi hotspot, it uses the wired connection, which is usually faster and does not drain your phone battery as fast, since the connected device charges it instead.
The feature stays off by default. After connecting the USB cable, the other device still has no internet access until you switch the toggle on inside the phone settings. This is a common source of confusion when a laptop shows a USB connection but no working internet.
How to turn USB tethering on or off
Open Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Connection & sharing ➔ Enable or disable USB tethering on your Oppo phone. Make sure the USB cable is already connected to the other device before you switch the toggle on.
If the connected device still shows no internet after enabling it, unplug and reconnect the cable, or check whether the device recognizes the phone as a network adapter. Turning USB tethering off again disconnects the shared connection immediately, while mobile data on the phone itself stays active.
Use USB tethering when Wi-Fi hotspot is unavailable, unstable, or when you need a wired connection for a desktop computer without built-in Wi-Fi.
