Set Up Fingerprint Unlock auf Oppo
Oppo phones only accept fingerprint unlock once a screen lock method is already active. ColorOS treats PIN, password or pattern as the required fallback, so the fingerprint sensor stores your print as an extra unlock layer, not a replacement.
To add a fingerprint, go to Settings ➔ Password & biometrics ➔ Add fingerprint. Place your finger on the sensor and follow the on-screen prompts until the scan completes.
During enrollment, lift and place the same finger repeatedly at slightly different angles. ColorOS needs several partial scans to build a reliable match, and a screen protector or wet finger can cause the process to stall or fail.
Once registered, the fingerprint sensor unlocks the phone directly from the lock screen and confirms purchases or app locks that support biometrics. If the sensor stops recognizing your print later, the stored fallback PIN or pattern still works and can also be used to reset a forgotten screen lock, since Oppo requires that credential to confirm identity before allowing changes.
Skip fingerprint setup if you share the device regularly or plan to reset the lock screen soon, since re-enrollment is required after certain security resets.
