Realme: Add Access Point Names (APNs) Manually

If mobile data stops working or MMS messages won't send on your Realme phone, the access point name from your carrier is often missing or incorrect. Realme UI normally pulls these APN settings automatically from your SIM, but a carrier switch, a factory reset, or a corrupted profile can leave the field empty. Without a valid APN entry, your phone cannot establish a data connection at all.

Add Access Point Names (APNs) Manually auf Realme

Realme UI configures access point names automatically using a carrier config file the moment you insert a SIM card. If that file is missing, outdated, or overwritten by a factory reset, mobile data and MMS stop working even though the SIM itself is active and has a valid data plan.

You can fix this by adding the APN manually with the values your carrier provides (name, APN, proxy, port, username, password, MMSC, MCC, MNC, authentication type). Open SettingsSIM card & mobile data. On dual-SIM devices, tap the SIM slot that needs the new profile. Then tap Access point namesAdd, enter the corresponding data from your provider, and tap Save to activate the new APN.

When this helps

Manual APN setup resolves data drops after switching carriers, restoring an old backup, or reinstalling Realme UI. It also fixes MMS delivery errors when picture messages fail to send or receive.

If mobile data still fails after saving a correct APN, check network mode, airplane mode, and whether the eSIM or physical SIM is set as the active data SIM. A wrong APN entry can also block data entirely, so double-check every field against your carrier's official documentation before saving.

Frequently asked questions

Check your carrier's support page or the material that came with your SIM, since values differ per provider and country. If you switched networks, ask the new operator for both the data APN and the MMS APN directly, because third-party lists can be outdated.
