Realme: Change App Icon Style on Home Screen

On Realme phones every app icon shows up in the same rounded circle, no matter which app you just installed. If you want square icons, a pebble shape, or a custom Art+ look for individual apps, that shape is controlled by a personalization setting most people never open. Left on default, your home screen keeps the same look even after installing icon packs from the Play Store.

Change App Icon Style on Home Screen auf Realme

Realme UI applies one icon mask to every app on the home screen by default, which is why third-party apps with square or custom logos still show up as circles. That mask is a system-wide setting, not something each app controls individually.

To change it, open SettingsPersonalizationsIcon styles. Here you get several presets, including a Material look and a Pebble shape, both of which apply the same outline to all icons at once.

For more control, tap Custom instead of a preset. This unlocks Art+, which lets you assign a unique icon design per app rather than forcing one shape on everything. Tap Set the App icon style to open that per-app picker.

Once you have picked the icons you want, tap on a Free area on the icon style screen to exit and apply the changes immediately. No reboot is needed, and the home screen updates icon by icon.

If some apps still look circular after switching, they are usually pinned as system shortcuts or widgets, which do not always follow the Icon styles setting. Removing and re-adding those specific icons after the style change usually fixes it.

Frequently asked questions

No. Widgets keep their own design and are not affected by the icon style you pick under Icon styles. Only standard app icons on the home screen and app drawer follow that setting.
