App Update Dots: Show or Hide auf Realme
The small dot next to an app icon after an update comes from a system-level indicator in Realme UI, not from the app itself. It behaves similar to a notification badge, but reacts only to app updates, not to unread messages or missed calls.
This indicator sits inside the home screen settings rather than inside individual app permissions, which is why many people never come across it. To change it, open Settings ➔ Home screen & Lock screen and enable or disable Display app update dot.
Turning the dot on helps you notice fresh app updates without opening the Play Store manually. Turning it off keeps your home screen visually cleaner, especially if you already rely on update notifications elsewhere or update apps automatically.
The setting applies system-wide to every app icon on the home screen at once. It does not affect notification badges for messages, calls, or other alerts, since those are managed separately inside each app's own notification settings.
