Allow or Restrict Background Activity of Apps auf Realme
Realme UI closes background apps aggressively to save battery, especially once a device has been running for a while or has limited free RAM. This behavior is controlled per app through a dedicated background activity setting, separate from the general battery optimization modes.
When an app is not allowed to run in the background, Android suspends it a few seconds after you switch away. Messaging apps stop receiving push notifications until reopened, music or navigation apps interrupt playback, and fitness trackers lose activity data mid-session.
To restore normal behavior for a specific app, open Settings ➔ Battery ➔ App battery management ➔ select the app ➔ enable Allow background activity ➔ confirm with Allow.
Only enable this for apps you actually need running in the background. Allowing it for every app cancels out the battery savings the feature is designed to deliver.
If notifications are still delayed after enabling background activity, check whether the app is also listed under sleeping or frozen apps in the same menu. Those are separate restrictions and can override the background activity toggle.
