Show or Hide Front Camera in Apps auf Realme
On Realme phones, the front camera sits inside a cutout that some apps don't account for. When an app's interface elements land underneath that cutout, buttons become unreachable and video previews get clipped. Realme UI addresses this with a per-app camera display setting instead of one global toggle.
Why the front camera overlaps content
Apps built for a full rectangular screen sometimes place navigation bars, filters or camera previews across the exact spot where the cutout sits. Auto adapt tries to handle this automatically, but it doesn't always work with third-party apps that use custom camera or video-call layouts.
How to change the setting
Go to Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Display & brightness ➔ Tap on More ➔ Tap on Screen display ➔ Tap on Front camera display by app ➔ Choose an App ➔ Choose Auto adapt, Show front camera or Hide front camera.
Auto adapt lets the system decide based on the app's own layout. Show front camera keeps the cutout visible, which usually works best for camera and video apps. Hide front camera fills the cutout area with a black bar, useful when the notch overlaps buttons or subtitles.
When to leave the default setting
If an app already displays correctly, changing this setting can cut off content instead of fixing it. Test each option per app rather than applying one setting system-wide, since the result depends on how that specific app renders its interface near the cutout.
