Realme: Select a Mobile Network Manually

By default, Realme phones running Android keep scanning for the strongest available signal and switch automatically. Near borders or in patchy coverage areas, this can mean your phone latches onto a foreign or partner network that charges roaming rates or only supports a slower connection.

Manual selection stops that automatic search and locks your phone onto one specific carrier. This helps when a neighboring network actually has better indoor coverage, when you need a stable 2G connection for calls, or when you want to avoid a costly roaming partner entirely.

To switch, go to Tap on Settings ➤ Tap on SIM card & mobile data ➤ Choose a SIM card (Dual SIM) ➤ Tap on Carrier ➤ Turn Off Auto select ➤ Tap on Off ➤ Select an Available network. Realme UI then scans nearby towers and lists every network it can reach, including foreign carriers if you are close to a border.

Once you pick a network manually, your phone stays on it even if the signal weakens, so calls can drop if you leave its coverage area. Switch back to Auto select once you are back in solid home network territory, otherwise you risk losing service entirely.
