Set Up Private DNS auf Realme
Standard DNS lookups on Android are sent in plain text. Every domain name your Realme phone resolves can be read by anyone monitoring the network, including public Wi-Fi operators or your mobile carrier. Private DNS wraps these lookups in an encrypted TLS connection, so the request itself stays hidden even if the destination site is not encrypted.
On Realme UI, this setting lives under network configuration rather than security settings, which is why many users miss it. Open Settings ➔ Connection & sharing ➔ Private DNS. You get two options: Autoor Designated private DNS. Automatic lets the system pick a provider automatically whenever one is available on the current network. Designated lets you enter a specific hostname from a provider you trust.
If you choose the designated mode, enter the corresponding data and tap Save. A wrong or unreachable hostname will silently fail, and the phone falls back to normal unencrypted DNS without a clear warning.
Private DNS only affects domain resolution, not the rest of your traffic. If your goal is hiding your IP address or browsing location, a VPN is the right tool instead. Some corporate or campus networks block outside DNS servers entirely, which can cause slow or failed connections until you switch back to Automatic.
