Realme: Show Network Speed in the Status Bar

When the status bar only shows signal bars, you have no way to tell if a stalled download is due to a slow connection or something else. Realme UI can display live upload and download speed next to the clock, but the option stays off by default on most phones.

Show or Hide Real-Time Network Speed in the Status Bar auf Realme

Realme UI hides live network speed by default because most people only need the standard signal and Wi-Fi icons in the status bar. If you download large files or stream video and want to see the actual transfer rate, you either install a third-party app or turn on the built-in display.

The Notifications & status bar menu controls this. Once enabled, the status bar shows current upload and download speed next to the network icon, updating as data moves.

To enable it: Tap on SettingsTap on Notifications & status barEnable or disable Real-time network speed. The same toggle switches it off again if the extra text feels crowded next to the clock or battery icon.

The reading reflects whichever connection is active, mobile data or Wi-Fi. It does not explain why a connection is slow, so pair it with a signal check or a dedicated speed test if you need more detail.

Turn the feature off again if you prefer a minimal status bar or if the speed text overlaps with notification icons on smaller screens.

Frequently asked questions

No. The system already tracks connection speed in the background, so displaying it in the status bar adds no measurable battery use. Actual drain still depends on how much data you transfer, not on showing the number.
