Turn Lift to Wake On or Off auf Samsung
Lift to wake is a motion gesture built into One UI that uses the accelerometer to detect when you pick up the phone. As soon as the sensor registers the movement, the screen turns on automatically without you pressing the power button. This is convenient for checking notifications quickly, but it also means the display can light up inside a pocket, bag, or on a bumpy car ride.
The gesture is enabled by default, so most users never actively chose to turn it on. Frequent unwanted wake-ups shorten screen-on time throughout the day and can drain the battery faster than expected. Leaving Always On Display active at the same time makes the effect harder to notice, since the screen already shows some content most of the time.
Where to find the setting
You can enable or disable the gesture under Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Advanced features ➔ Tap on Motions and gestures ➔ Enable or disable Lift to wake. Turning it off only stops the lift gesture; the power button and double-tap-to-wake (if enabled) keep working as before.
If the screen still turns on unexpectedly after disabling this option, check whether double tap to wake or an active call notification is causing it instead.
