Xiaomi: Allow or Block Control Center from the Lock Screen

If anyone can swipe down and open the Control center on your Xiaomi lock screen without a PIN, quick toggles like Wi-Fi, mobile data, or the flashlight stay reachable to strangers. This shortcut speeds up daily use but also exposes settings before the phone gets unlocked. You can turn that access on or off depending on how much control you want over a locked device.

Control Center Access from Lock Screen auf Xiaomi

On MIUI, swiping down from the lock screen can open the Control center directly, without asking for a PIN, pattern, or fingerprint first. That is convenient for quick toggles like flashlight or Wi-Fi, but it also means anyone holding the phone can change settings before it is unlocked.

This behavior is controlled by a single toggle in the notification settings. Disabling it forces the device to stay locked when swiping down, so the Control center only opens after authentication. Enabling it again restores the shortcut for faster daily access.

To change it, go to SettingsNotifications & Control centerItems shown on the Lock screen after swiping down and toggle Control center on or off.

This setting only affects the Control center panel. It does not change how notifications appear on the lock screen or how Always On Display works. If you share your phone often or leave it unattended, turning this off adds a small but real layer of protection. If you mainly use the phone yourself and want faster access to toggles, leaving it enabled is usually fine.
