Xiaomi: Fix Camera Flickering with Anti Banding

Flickering bars in photos or videos usually appear when you shoot a TV, monitor or fluorescent light. These sources refresh at the local power grid frequency, and the camera sensor can capture that refresh as a moving band if the settings do not match.

Xiaomi handles this with the Anti banding option in the camera settings. It lets you tell the sensor which frequency to filter, or leave the decision to automatic detection.

Open the path: Tap on Camera ➔ Open the Menu ➔ Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Anti banding ➔ Choose an option.

You get four choices. Off disables the filter completely, which is only useful if banding never appears for you. 50 Hz matches the power grid used across most of Europe, Asia and Africa. 60 Hz matches North America and parts of South America and Asia. Auto lets the phone detect the frequency on its own, which works well most of the time but can react slower in mixed lighting.

If bands still show up after picking a fixed frequency, your local grid may not match the standard assumption, so try the other manual option before falling back to Auto.

This setting only affects visible banding from artificial light sources. It has no effect on general low-light noise or motion blur, those need separate exposure or shutter adjustments.
