Xiaomi: Set Battery Saver for Individual Apps

MIUI applies one general power saving mode to the whole phone by default, but not every app behaves the same way in the background. Some apps need to stay fully active to deliver notifications on time, while others can be restricted without any noticeable downside. Xiaomi solves this with a per-app battery plan.

You find this option under Tap on Settings ➔ Tap on Battery & performance ➔ Tap on Battery ➔ Tap on App battery saver. From there, pick the app you want to adjust with Choose an app and then set its restriction level with Choose an option.

The No restrictions option keeps the app fully active in the background. Battery saving is not applied, so the app can run background tasks, sync data, and send notifications without delay. This is the right choice for messaging or calling apps that must react instantly.

For apps that rarely need instant background activity, choosing a more restrictive option reduces background battery use but can delay notifications or pause syncing until you open the app again. If an app suddenly stops notifying you, check its setting here first before assuming it is broken.
